Amazing Grace. You’ve probably heard the song, as it is known throughout the world. We put the first verse on the sides of the truck and it sums up pretty much of the author’s life, John Newton. Born in London in 1725, he grew up to become a sailor and eventually became Captain of his own slave ship. Then one night his ship became caught in a raging storm, and thinking he was going to die, memories of his mom praying for him, along with Bible verses and hymns he had been taught, flooded his mind. Miraculously, the battered ship found safe harbor the next day. And that was when John Newton completely surrendered his life to Jesus Christ.
